Statement of Need

The Medical Community is extremely concerned about the deteriorating relationship that exists between the Medical Community, pharma, the business community and consumers in the United States.  The National Health Forum was established to build bridges between these constituencies. The NHF continually surveys the medical community and its relationships to patients, pharma, business and academia in medicine. The recent findings were that while Americans “trust” their personal physicians, the credibility of entire Medical, Biotech, Hospital, and Pharmaceutical institutions fall way below polled opinions of just a decade ago.

These results, echoed by other national studies, underscore the importance of effective education at the physician, business and academic levels and the need to promote awareness of the true goals of the profession to provide hope, cures, improved outcomes, modalities, and preventive medicine to our population.  When the public, physicians, pharma, academia and business are properly informed, the cost of “sick care” actually goes down substantially.  The first annual National Health Forum succeeded in this endeavor.

Furthermore, healthcare organizations confront risks that threaten their reputation and financial security. Healthcare organizations must navigate complex rules and changing regulations, with continued growing pressure on revenues, costs and ever increasing regulations. These challenging times require clinicians, pharma, academia, business and consumers to have a broad perspective and understand the business of healthcare.

The National Health Forum is committed to educating all these groups by helping them understand, quantify, examine and manage the risks that matter most to their organizations.  Whether it be to deliver the highest quality medicines to their patients, educate consumers on the inherent value of good health and preventive medicine, provide sound advice to academia for the benefit of educating future clinicians or simply be a trusted “third party” to provide information to  regulators and government officials.

To get the message out, The National Health Forum utilizes, national television, web streaming of our Continuing Medical Education providers and keynote addresses, direct contact with regulators and publicity placed in national publications. The National Health Forum event in Houston Texas on Friday, October 26th at Houstonian Hotel, and the National Health Forum web portal will keep the healthcare industry informed about emerging market trends, regulatory and legislative changes, and effective business strategies.
